Instructions for use
Ingredients:
- Vietnamese Rice Paper: 22cm.
- Stuffed:
1. Vegetables: Carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, purple cabbage, Chinese mushrooms, cut into julienne strips.
2. Protein: Cooked shrimp, ground pork, chicken, or tofu.
3. Starches: Soaked rice noodles, chopped water chestnuts (optional).
Procedure:
- Prepare the filling:
1. Mix vegetables, proteins and starches. Season with salt, pepper, fish sauce and minced garlic, mixing well.
- Rolling the rolls:
1. Soften the rice paper: Soak the rice paper in warm water for 5-10 seconds, then place it on a clean cutting board.
2. Filling and rolling: Place an appropriate amount of filling in the center, near the bottom edge of the rice paper. Fold the bottom edge over the filling, then fold the sides inward and roll tightly.
How to consume:
- Fresh version:
Arrange the rolls on a plate and serve with fish sauce, sweet and sour sauce or peanut sauce. Ideal for those who prefer a light and healthy taste.
- Fried version:
1. First frying: Heat the oil to 150°C, immerse the rolls and fry over medium-low heat until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
2. Second frying (optional): Once cooled, heat the oil to 180°C and re-fry for 3-5 minutes for extra crispiness.
Recommended sauces:
- Fish sauce: Fish sauce + sugar + vinegar + minced garlic + chili pepper + water.
- Sweet and sour sauce: Ready to use.
- Peanut Sauce: Peanut butter + coconut milk + sugar + lemon juice.
Two ways to consume:
- Fresh version: Light and healthy, with the natural flavor of vegetables.
- Fried version: Crispy on the outside and tasty on the inside, for those who love more intense flavours.
